We are excited to be working with The Alpine French School to offer people the opportunity to learn French in the stunning French Alps. You can stay in one of Mountain Lets lovely self catered Morzine apartments or chalets while joining in the Alpine French School’s French activity programme
We asked Helen Watts, the Director and founder of the Alpine French School to tell us more about their activity programme:
If you are on holiday in Morzine and fancy practicing your French in an informal fun environment, then why not try Alpine French School’s activity programme? With activities running every day from Monday to Friday with students from all over the world, this is a great way to broaden your horizons, meet some new people, speak French and have fun!
One of the most popular activities is wine tasting. Hosted by Max at La Chaudanne wine bar, participants learn about how to taste wine in a 2-hour activity where they will learn the basics, test their ability to guess flavours and scents and taste some wines from a chosen region. Learn some new French vocabulary, taste great French wines and practice your French in a beautiful traditional setting!
Or if wine isn’t your thing, how about an ‘apéro’ with French conversation. Hosted at Alpine French School, practice your French conversation with other students and a native French teacher over a glass of wine. The perfect way to try speaking French in a comfortable environment.
If you are looking for flexible but slightly more structured activities, then the school also offers French Skills Workshops. Designed to allow you to target the areas of your French you are looking to improve; for example focus on pronunciation and getting your tongue around the more difficult French sounds so that you can be better understood when speaking in French to the locals. Or how about an email and letter writing workshop to learn to communicate effectively in French in the written form.
Activities and workshops change on a monthly basis and also include excursions, special events and seasonal activities so keep an eye on the school’s facebook page or website for up-to-date listings.
